Redwood Sock

I'm cross posting from the Red Sock Knit Along. My first Redwood sock is done. I just love it. It was a simple, quick knit and it fits well. I'm very glad I decided to switch to a smaller needle size for the heel and foot. This sock went many places because it was so easy to knit in public.

I quickly got the second sock on the needles last night.

  2. Penny,
    Thank you.
The yarn is Redwood Forest in the Memories line by Knit Picks.

The pattern is a simple one:
Cast on a multiple of 8 stitches, join and k2p2 for 2 inches
    then p4k4 for 4 rows,and k4p4 for 4 rows
I used 64 stitches which is my usual number for regular socks. I used size 2 needles for the leg because I tend to knit tightly but switched to 1s for the heel and foot. If I had to do it over again, I'd have just used 1s to begin with.

I then used a Round Heel and continued the pattern down the instep. I ended with my usual toe.
